poza articol roxanaIt’s September…so what better time to start thinking about chunky cable knits and shaggy winter coats? Because, while we still might have some summer days with its gladiator sandals and floaty dresses, there’s nothing like the first wave of autumn clothes in the shops. Maybe it’s the nostalgic back-to-school feel of all the greys and maroons, or maybe it’s just the cashmere, but the start of autumn is our favorite time in the fashion calendar.

Here’s the trends fashion’s finest for the new season.

Eighties Revival the 80s never looked so good. Think lame, polka dots, power shoulders, velvet (particularly big next season), and fierce leather.

Folk The glam rock of this summer’s 70s revival has gone soft for autumn. It’s a little more romantic this time round. Soft velvet flares, long boho floaty dresses under waistcoats, and cozy patchwork knits. Key piece: the poncho.

Red Scarlet, traffic light, crimson or ketchup – whatever you want to call it, this is AW15’s stand-out color trend. Many of the designers are working the hue in head-to-toe forms, cutting some of the boldest figures of the season and making us humming Chris de Burgh.

Jewelry Bling is back in a big way for AW15. Think of chandelier earrings and statement necklaces.
Bold Moves Vivid, graphic patterns swirled across the collections. Wear top-to-toe if you’re feeling bold or break things up with some retro color blocking.
Gothic Romance Moody lace and high ruffle necklines cut beautiful, costume-worthy silhouettes. The 19th century vibes ruled over the beauty world too, as deep berry lips and period drama hair vamped-up the dark glam look even further.

Velvet Softly. In suits, flares, dresses and capes, rich colored velvet popped up at the shows in every city – just in time for cocktail hour.

Avant Garde Tailoring Tailoring’s new proportions are oversized and asymmetric. Think of draped hero blazers, think of wrap-waist trousers. Think a little androgynous and a lot architectural.
Duvet Dressing Super-quilted coats will be, without doubt, the best way to snuggle up come winter. Just wake us up when it’s SS16…

The High Line Just how high can your high neck go? Designers stretched the boundaries of polo neck dressing, layering with everything from mannish tailoring to glitzy minidresses.

The Clash Can’t decide which AW15 trend to try first? Just pile them all on at once. Saturated florals that looked like they were borrowed from interiors could be unexpectedly teamed with patchwork suede. The easiest way to get dressed for the new season is with an “anything goes” attitude.
